| 대본 정보 | 자막> 제목자막> Nokudang House of the Haenam Yun Clan and Its Surroundings the House of Green Rain 글자막> Nokudang House of the Haenam Yun Clan Surroundings(Historic Site No.167) yeondong-ri, Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do Nokudang House was built sometime in mid-15th century, when Joseon statesman and poet Gosan Yun SEon-do`s great-great-grandfather settled in the region. The Head House of the Yun Clan holds the Documents of Yun Seon-do`s Family (Treasure No.482) The self-portrait of his great-grandson Yun Du-seo (Self-portrait by Yun Du-seo, National Treasure no.240) Nogudang House, the main building of the residence, was a gift from King Hyojong to Yun Seon-do. Nogu means 'rain that falls between late spring and early summer when the trees are a lush green,' an expression which matches the forest at the back of the house perfectly. Kaya Forest, Nogudang House, Haenam(NAtural Monument No.241) It is said that the sound of rustling leaves made by the wind as it blows through the forest sounds like rain. Kaya trees are popular garden trees due to their beautiful shape. Their fruit is used as a medicine, and can be extracted and used as oil. To honor their ancestor`s dying words, "Villages go poor when the nearby mountain is bare," descendants of the Yun Clan took good care of the forest.
