| 대본 정보 | 자막> 글자막> The IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011 were a great success. 나래이션> The IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011 attracted worldwide attention. 글자막> The IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011 had a mascot called Sarbi. 나래이션> At the center of all the festivities was the game's mascot, Salbi. 글자막> Sapsalgae of Gyeongsan is indigenous to the Korean peninsula and is known for their intelligence and loyalty. 나래이션> The dog is a Sapsalgae of Kyongsang, which has been designated as Korea's Natural Monument number 368. One man has dedicated his life to this breed. His name is Han Guk-il, the father of all Sapsalgae. 제목자막> My love for a Sapsalgae! Han Guk-il at the Korea Sapsaree Foundation -Pt.1- 장소자막> Daekyeung University Jain-myeon, Gyeongsan-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do 나래이션> Down South in Gyeongsangbuk-do, 말자막> Sit! Stay! Duck! Wait! 나래이션> some students are making a ruckus on a university sports field. These are the undergraduates of the Animal Training and Events Department who are learning how to train dogs. 인물자막> Han Guk-il Professor, Department of Animal Training and Event, Daekyeung University 나래이션> Professor Han is instructing the undergraduates with a smile on his face. Today they have a special trainer, and it is not the usual one. 정보자막> Sapsalgae of Gyeongsan(Natural Monument No.368) This Korean breed was believed to ward off bad luck and evil spirits. Covered in a fluffy coat of fur, their eyes are barely visible. They are very brave and loyal animals. Sapsalgaes have been recognized as a Natural Monument to preserve the breed. 나래이션> Sapsargae of Gyeongsan has a long, bushy coat of fur and is known for their courage. The indigenous breed is designated Korea's Natural Monument #368. This Sapsargae was an immediate hit with the students. 말자막> Kim Jong-hyeon Animal Training and Events student I first learned about Sapsalgaes thanks to Professor Han. The most important thing about Sapsalgaes is that they originated from Korea. These dogs make great companions and are as affectionate as popular imported breeds. I think they make great pets. 말자막> Jeong Hyo-ju Animal Training and Events student Professor Han is like the king of all Sapsalgaes. He`s very dedicated to what he does. He`s very determined. He is kind but strong. That is something I hope to learn from him. 나래이션> Han Gukil's class was about different dog breeds and training, but his lecture tends to return to Sapsalgae. As a committed Sapsalgae enthusiast, he has long been spreading the word on how great these dogs are. Having a Sapsalgae dog next to him has its effects. 말자막> Han Guk-il Professor of Daekyeung University The one thing I can guarantee is that the students in my class will not be tempted to slack off. We bring our dogs to school so the students can pet and play with them. They can brush and pet the dogs all they want. It`s very soothing to be able to interact with these animals. It`s also a great way to promote Sapsalgaes. The Korea Sapsaree Foundation is based in Wachonmyeon, Gyeongsan-si. 장소자막> Korea Sapsaree Foundation Wachon-eup, Gyeongsan-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do 나래이션> He's also the chief of research at the foundation. Han takes care of over 600 Sapsargae dogs at the kennels. The group was founded to protect and promote the indigenous dogs, and is the only institute dedicated to maintaining and researching the breed. Sapsalgae appear in Korean folk tales and folk art, having been a popular companion since Silla dynasty. But the breed dwindled during the Japanese colonial period. 말자막> Han Guk-il Chief of Research, Korea Sapsaree Foundation Between 1940 and 1945, Japan was at war in the Pacific. So, to make winter uniforms for the soldiers, They needed everything they could get their hands on. A lot of them were made of dog hide. That`s why the number of Sapsalgaes fell dramaticlly. 나래이션> They almost went extinct until professors at Gyeongbuk National University began to spread sabsalgae in the 1960s. The breed was recognized as Natural Monument number 368 in 1992. There are an estimated 3000 Sapsalgaes nationwide, a direct result of the Korea Sapsaree Foundation's tireless efforts. 인물자막> Ha Ji-hong President of the Korea Sapsaree Foundation 나래이션> Chief Han Guk-il and President Haji Hong are the men behind this astonishing progression. 말자막> Ha Ji-hong President of the Korea Sapsaree Foundation It was early winter, sleet was falling. This guy showed up at my lab wearing a trench coat. He said that his friends called him the “canine professor.” Then he said would actually like to be one. 나래이션> Han first got into dog training while he was in the army in 1988. He was a professional trainer when he met his first sabsalgae. 말자막> Han Guk-il Chief of Research, Korea Sapsaree Foundation Weknew quite a long about Sapsalgaes and that they were indigenous to our peninsula. I thought the breed could use more help. There was a lot of work to be done. I paid Professor Ha`s lab a visit. 말자막> Ha Ji-hong President of the Korea Sapsaree Foundation I didn't have the financial backup to hire more people, let alone run the operation. I could pay my employees around 500,000won backed by my own funds. So I asked him, How much are you paid a month? He said about 2,500,000 won. I said I could only pay him one fifth of that. But he took the position 나래이션> Han jumped into the business out of sheer love for Sapsalgaes. It is what prompts him to get up early in the morning. He has been working for over a decade to raise public awareness of how great Sapsalgae really are. It's not easy staying focused in such difficult conditions, but he is happiest. when he works with the dogs. Today is an important day for the Foundation. 말자막> I`m going to take a look at its jaws. Yeah. The bite looks alright. 말자막> Han Guk-il Chief of Research, Korea Sapsaree Foundation We are registering a Sapsalgae now. When the puppies are weaned. they can get mixed up, so we try to make them identifiable by marking their ears like this. We also insert an electronic chip. The information goes into our database. So does the information on their heritage, so we can manage them with ease. 나래이션> The researchers at the foundation sample each dog's DNA and other details. It is a process which all the sabsalgaes that come to the kennels have to undergo in order to preserve the breed's pure bloodline. Now it's time for the two-month-old puppies to get leash training. Unfamiliar with the leash, most puppies remain motionless. 말자막> Han Guk-il Chief of Research, Korea Sapsaree Foundation This puppy is getting leashed for the first time. It`s a new experience for him. He`s just glued to the ground. If we let him go to another home like this, it will take him longer to adjust. 나래이션> Later today, a will be adopted. When a sapsergae recognizes a person as its owner, it does not take orders from anyone else. That is why these puppies get bare basic training. Finally, it is time for the puppy to meet his new family. 말자막> How beautiful! 말자막> Take a good look before you make up your mind. 말자막> Are these two months old now? 말자막> Yes, something like that. 말자막> Look how big they are! 나래이션> The family is obviously in love with the puppy. All of a sudden, the puppies withdraw. Han is anxious. 말자막> That guy can do a little trick. He can shake hands. 말자막> Shake hands! 말자막> He`s giving me both his paws! 나래이션> Because these animals are registered as natural monuments, each adoption is subject to a rigorous selection process. Even after a puppy has been sent off to a new home, it must be checked regularly. 말자막> How does it feel? 말자막> Kim hyo-jeong Korea Sapsaree Foundation It`s hard every time. I spend a lot of time with every one of them... Do I have a home now? 말자막> Han Guk-il Chief of Research, Korea Sapsaree Foundation He`s going to a new home. He`ll be loved by his new family. Everyone is so excited about them. 나래이션> Now it's time to leave for good. Han watches the family leave, until they are barely visible, wishing the puppy and its new owners a good life together. Then he takes a stroll with his old buddy, Soedori. 말자막> I`m going for a walk with Soedori. Soedori loves to go for a walk. 나래이션> Every adoption is tough for him as he feels like a foster dad for all the little ones. 말자막> Han Guk-il Chief of Research, Korea Sapsaree Foundation It`s a little calming ritual for me. I like to watch Soedori having a good time. I feel young and healthy as if I`m running around. 나래이션> Soeduri is his oldest dog and companion. He comes to terms with his loss. Late at night. 말자막> Hello? 말자막> Dad? 말자막> Yes? 말자막> When are you coming? 말자막> I`m at the apartment right now. 나래이션> He gets a phone call from his distressed daughter. Han's face stiffens. |
